FISHERMEN’S TRAIL
A path rich of history, between the white karst rocks and the blue water of the sea.
We present you the Fishermen’s trail: the path that connects the Karst to the sea. It is a fascinating and panoramic itinerary, directly connected with the Sage trail. By walking the path and the numerous rocky steps you’ll reach the small port of Canovella de’ Zoppoli and the typical mediterranean pebble beach. Here you can relax and enjoy the dishes offered by the restaurants located just in front of the sea.
The Fishermen’s trail was formed by the fishermen of Aurisina who were looking for a shorter way to reach the sea. It is precisely for this reason that the marina is called Canovella de’ Zoppoli: the historic boats used by local fishermen were in fact called “zoppoli”, originally in Slovenian “čupe”.
This path can be taken from Aurisina near the middle school Igo Gruden. There’s the possibility to park the car in the spacious parking place in front of the municipal gym.
