THE BEST BEACHES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF DUINO-AURISINA

The municipality of Duino-Aurisina, in the province of Trieste, is a marvellous place between the sea and the rocky nature. Discover its best beaches.

SISTIANA BAY

Sistiana bay sits next to the Duino cliffs and the famous Rilke trail. It is the perfect place for your summer. Its rocky beaches offer beautiful sunsets and views of the Duino Castle. There you can find restaurants, bars, clubs and some entertainment venues such as sup-renting etc.

MARINA OF DUINO

In Duino, a small town on the Adriatic coast, there’s an area called “At The White Lady’s”, named after the main character of the legend of the Old Castle of Duino. It offers a renting service of umbrellas and beach chairs. There’s also an elegant fish restaurant and a bar.

THE PRINCIPE BEACH

This stony beach is locates in a picturesque place just below the Duino Castle. It is accessible both by sea or by foot, but the path that takes you there is a bit challenging.

PORTOPICCOLO

For those who love exclusive and classy settings, there are the beautiful stony beaches of Portopiccolo, a new and modern town in Sistiana. There you get the chance to go for a swim in one of the swimming pools, that are part of the beautiful Maxi’s club, which also offers a great view on the sea. After sunbathing you can visit the nearby boutiques, bars and restaurants.

BEACHES ALONG THE COASTAL ROAD

Along this beautiful road that connects Sistiana to the city of Trieste, there are many wild beaches. They are perhaps a bit difficult to reach because of the steep paths, but they are definitely worth the effort.

THE GINESTRE

This beach establishment offers you a wild but well-kept white pebble beach. The water there is particularly clear.

CANOVELLA DE’ZOPPOLI BEACH

This beach is located in an amazing place facing the Adriatic sea. It is framed by picturesque olive groves and vineyards, that offer a typical Mediterranean atmosphere. Near the stony beach there is also a small marina with bars and restaurants. Canovella de’ Zoppoli is reachable by foot from the Coastal road.
